There seems to be a lot of cool switches and options on there. I would love to see all it does. Ill cross my fingers an SAâer who is interested in one gets a unit i would love to hear impressions.
Oouuff I donât know economically the Shiite is not now.
What kind of tubes are used there?
A tube roll could prove to be very expensive.
I think they could have been bolder and gone for Kt88 or El34 274b tubes.
Unfortunately, itâs not to my taste.
I would rather pay the price of Decware even if it is more expensive.
I canât imagine Schiit as a tube amplifier either.
It uses 6n6Pâs I believe for the bank of 10, there is no direct Western equivalent and they were all made in the same factory AFAIK, so I there wouldnât be any real reason to tube roll.
Uses 6N1Pâs for the pre tubes, there are enough similar tubes to roll those, but there are only 2 of them.
Doesnât interest me, but itâs will be interested in seeing others impressions.
Huh? Theyâve only been making tube amps for about a decade.
Saw this on reddit
Very interesting, not sure what Jasonâs comment means in reference to the Valhalla though. I have one and it sounds pretty good for the right headphone (300 ohm), and the price is great for the âtube curiousâ.
Any ideas on what the Urd transport capabilities are? If it plays SACD Iâm quite interested potentiallyâŚ
Iâm paraphrasing here:
Itâs basically a Valhalla with 4X the output tubes. However, where Valhalla can be viewed as neutral, somewhat SS sounding in presentation, the Folkvanger is balls out tubey, bloomy, holographic, not that great at measuring. If these are not your cup of tea, donât buy this amp.
Iâm somewhat interested in these, doesnât look like they are really trying to do a traditional circumaural after all, note the gap in the front/back of the pads. And the transformer box removes the one thing that stopped we even wanting to try a Raal.
Price is surprisingly reasonable, build quality looks kind of so-so though
It does look interesting. $2500 isnât bad to try if you have the amp to power it (which Iâm certain you and many here do).
Looking forward to impressions.
build quality looks kind of so-so though
headfiâs on the case
Yes I saw the explanation from Raal I actually quite like the single piece headband, the suspension strap adjustment is probably not an issue in reality, and I can live with the open foam since itâs there because alternatives impacted sound quality (assuming replacement pads arenât stupidly priced).
It just doesnât look like a premium product.
Bought one, if nothing else the transformer box gives me an excuse to try an SR1A later
Ive got a set comming so ill make sure to post some impressio s
I listened to one at CanJam and was impressed. The foam pads look a little out of place on a premium headphone, but itâs not like you can see them when youâre wearing them.
HuhâŚwell, interesting I guess
That actually really looks interesting hahaha
New headband design.
Slightly more pudgy
My favorite listen at CanJam Chicago. Was a wow. So much more usable and comfortable vs the existing model. Made me rethink goals.
Just went to Google the A&K pee51 dongle dac and this came up. Had no idea this existed. Must be new?
