General IEM/In Ear Disussion & Help Thread

Are there any attachments I could add to IEM’s to make them fit better

You can get custom molded tips from a few different places.

I think adv sound is the most well known but there are several manufacturers that offer it.

This is the part where I reccomend you to just get actual ciems made instead, you won’t regret it lol and you won’t be able to go back to Universal afterwards either :joy:

Got a question for anyone that has experience with Rhapsodio IEMs. What cables have you found paired well? I have the Infinity MK2 Plus on the way and since I don’t know how well my Eletech Socrates will pair, I may very well need a new cable.

I use a Plussound Verse Copper+ with Infinity MK2 for over a year and a half now. I love everything about the cable, both ergonomically and sound wise. It works very well with the Infinity imo, definitely a upgrade over the stock cable and I also prefer it to a PWaudio 1960’s 2wire and several Eletech cables I’ve had the chance to try on extended demos, including socrates, plato, and Iliad.

Btw imo I’d actually use the stock over a socrates, it is a pretty nice cable for stock and does sound good with the iem.

Disclaimer: I don’t know if the stock for MK2 plus is the same cable as the regular MK2.

definitely post your thoughts once you get it in, I’m very interested. If I didn’t have a custom Infinity mk2 already I’d consider copping a plus or even a ultra :exploding_head:

You also can’t go wrong with whatever cables rhapsodio themselves offer. Pretty much a guarantee synergy wise (at least with the Evo copper), unless you’re looking to balance out the infinity tonally. I have the Evo copper and regular mk.ii. Solid step up from stock.

I have been looking a bit into IEMs again and was wondering if somebody has a good recomendation for EDM focused IEMs.

I am looking for something fun and engaging I guess V shaped a bit but I listen to a lot of EDM with vocals so should not something crazy.

just something fun in 0-500 range I am not looking for TOTL for this one

A little bit above your range but my UniqueMelody Mest MK2 cost $625 (used market) and are great for electronic stuff, and generally I’ve been impressed with their performance across the board

I actually had those in the past and they are indded very good. I just boought hisenionr mega5est which is similar to mest and has very nice bass as well.
so maybe something a bit more fun to fool around with or I should just be happy with those and my final A8K

Yeah that Mega 5est has some serious bump to it. Another would be Dunu Davinci.

One of the reasons I went with the mest is the $330 conversion to customs which I’ll doater this year probably

I haven’t really considered this as the option but that is actually very good price for custom upgrade.

This is not really adding anything to the conversation other than I just want to say it.
I’ve been getting more into IEMs lately.

Considering we both liked some headphones in the past, what ieam you currently have in rotation?

Dunu Davinci is what I am using. Thinking to try a Hype 4 maybe next I just don’t know really. But I’m having fun reading reviews and also what others are getting, and what they have to say.

Has anyone got their ears on a Moondrop Dusk yet?

I bought these, Soundcore p20i. as back up tws IEMs for the gym holy fuck I have never heard more one dimensional bass. I’ve heard some Anker products before and usually solid for the price so I decided to give these cheapies a try. This thing is somehow has decent instrument separation with a hea y bass bloat. The bass is so heavy yet somehow criminally unremarkable. Lacks any semblance of detail and texture and due to this fails to get me pumped to workout with my really bass heavy workout playlists.

Update: got to this song in my playlist it does not know what to do with this weird bass effect I timestamped it’s hilariously bad sounding. It’s such a whiplash cause the mids are actually kinda decent in these so her voice sound pretty good.

I have the Liberty Pro 2s and they seem to do the job.

I believe it these are like $20 so I don’t know what I was expecting. I also have a pair of moondrop space travel as back ups for work which are a pair of galaxy buds 2 pro . And a pair of galaxy buds Fe coming in as .my main gym IEMs . I’ve had a few too many bad days lately if me forgetting my tws IEMs for work or the gym lately so I’m going hard on this issue

Did anyone try any of the curren higher end IEMs? Something linke Fir radon 6 or canpur or fatfreq?

I am thinking about trying something above my final and I am not sure if I should go for rhapsodio based on M0Ns list or consider also some new kids on the block

I can comment on the Rhapsodio Infinity MkII Plus. It’s a very nice IEM, but rather source picky. If you don’t want to have to worry a much about cable and DAC/amp pairings, I would probably look elsewhere. If you get it dialed in though, it’s :pinched_fingers:
