For a combination around 1k? I’d look toward a rnhp + bf2, g111 + ares ii, little labs monotor + bf2 perhaps, really depends on what you are looking for. But honestly I can’t say I really like the th900 on a lot of the 500 buck amps, they just don’t feel like they are showing what make the headphones special.
For just an amp around 1k:
For solid state, I personally thought things like a used bryston bha-1, burson soloist 3xp + supercharger, trilogy 933/931, a used xi broadway s perhaps. If you don’t mind using a portable amp the mass kobo 424 is pretty awesome with it for the money. A used vio v280 is a hit or miss pairing depending on the person
Tube wise, the lta mz2 was pretty great, as was the quicksilver headphone amp. Woo wa6 2nd gen also potentially a good option, as is a used dragon inspire iha-1.
It’s an awesome pairing, but I think even used that’s really stretching around 1k lol (but that’s really where you want to be amp quality wise for the headphone imo)
