@Rmsanger you can look now. I totally accidentally hit the good-to-go button when it was not-good-to-go
I never had my offer accepting think pro falcon sold it and just went afk from the forum I was on with him.
Really been doing a lot of chilling on the modded Cowon Plenue S > Radiance. Itâs been making at work shifts a bit better for sure.
@Delta9K I think you owe us some more longer term thoughts.
This is seriously the best deal in audio right now.
By the way, if anyoneâs bought the Headphones.com Focal Clear OG, I would love to know which earpads it comes with!
If you press down on the earpads, the OG earpads will rebound almost immediately, while the new earpads are more memory-foam-ish and will rebound slowly.
Quickest return I ever made in audio was my Clear MG
I still donât know what exactly I wasnât the biggest fan of. At the time I had the bifrost + clear og + rnhp setup. And I wasnât the biggest fan. But I know itâs such a loved headphone etc that I would like to give it another chance with a chain I know I like.
I compared it at the time to LCD-X 2021, Arya V2 and HD800S and it lost on comfort by a mile and didnât provide any justification in SQ over the planars
I was not a fan either.
Just fwiw he linked the og not the MG. Og is honestly just a better can than mgâŚ
Fair. My actual biggest complaint was that it wasnât comfortable. Did not hear the OG.
Did enjoy the Utopia for the 15min I tried it over the weekend.
I agree with this, but like, the two cans arenât night-and-day different either, so if someone really didnât like the MG, I wouldnât exactly be in a rush to tell them to try the OG.
That depends on the issue they had imo. For example i dodnt have any real complaints with technicalities of the MG, i just found them incredibly fatiguing
For anyone whoâs heard both, does the Elegia scale any better than the Elex does with source gear, or are the two of them about the same?
I personally thought the elex scaled better and the elegia was more forgiving of pairing
Cool cool, thanks for letting me know! (Though itâs funny to hear considering the Elex might be the least-scaling headphone that I currently own.)
Yeah I can see that lol, imo neither headphone are close to the clear when it comes to amp pickiness, and nothing to the utopia, both the elex and elegia kinda seem like they were designed to work off most things
@Gothique Random question: Do you use the stock pads on your Elegia?
I do. I am regretting not getting a reserve pair before it went EOL. Most alternatives boost the bass and I like it as is.
Are none of the other Focal pads the same? I am pretty sure they all clip in the same.
