Classique Music šŸŽ»

Live today 1pm CDT.

I look forward to reading your reviews after you’ve bought their full collection. You lust after and then you collect, it’s a natural progression.

Listening to it now and enjoying it. I’d put him in the high energy/fast temp group with Levit.

I suppose that’s how it’s been lol
But not this time, price is out of my reach so :pensive:

Nice! I don’t listen to much Beethoven but that was the feeling I got as well when I listened to it

I agree, tho I’d like to hear more of Kikushi lighter style and imo feel the Levit
recording is a bit harsh.
This turned out really fun and interesting…with some new ones to try…thanks.
Again speaking of only the 14th I seem to prefer one or the other almost by
movement, lol. Barenboim’s first mvt is slowest and reflective and "Moonlighty"for example…appropriate tonight! Lisitsa and Levit just too fast and jumbled on the 3rd mvt. And that scherzo, as I said earlier, really shows the differences in touch and phrasing.
I have to say that overall, especially considering the sound of the recording, that I like the Brendel best, so thanks for that find! I’m sure others will have different preferences, we here and especially my pianist friend from Rochester, who knows and hears a lot more technique factors, lol.
Have you guys settled on a favorite…for now?

Not to mess things up further but…ck Wilhelm Kempff…older, but good!

I’ve been going through some of my Beethoven samples tonight. I really like
this. Good recording with great separation, and I particularly enjoy Chailly’s
tempi and how he maintains Beethoven’s ā€œinner rhythmic drive.ā€ This second
movement is a good example.
PS That timpani part is Great fun to play!!

I agree, I like Chailly’s Beethoven cycle a lot. I like him in general as a conductor.

Anybody have french horn album recs? I’d love some, preferably available on qobuz so i can buy the album.

Just discovered this wonderful biography. I have enjoyed her playing for quite
some time…this gives more insight to what she brings within herself to each
performance.

The concert is a culmination, but THIS is where lies the genius, effort and
connection between conductor and orchestra!

A new album that AMHD tossed my way.
Interesting variety and well recorded. 4 songs.
Emerald and Stone has deep bass added.
I like Crystal Tears, but all are good, imo.

Is anyone familiar with any of these releases or their recording quality? Any recommendations?

New from Frankfurt. Guest conductor. Firebird…one of my favorite pieces
and some great video.
